•    Best approaches to managing project and portfolio challenges during a crisis
•    Examine the impact of change on strategy
•    Rebalancing and optimizing a portfolio


Organizations are urgently assessing the alignment of projects and programs to strategy. Join us for an overview of the essentials of project portfolio management principles, life cycle and join us for discussions on rebalancing and optimizing the project portfolio.



Vijay Kanabar, PMP, CSM. (Panel Chair)     

Dr. Vijay Kanabar, Director of Project Management Programs at Boston University will Chair this discussion session. He is the of several books on project management, and has been teaching at Boston University Metropolitan College for the past 25 years. Author of several books on project management, he has received PMI’s highest award, the Linn Stuckenbruck Teaching Excellence Award, for his contribution to teaching and curriculum development in the field of Project Management. Christopher Friday (PMP, PfMP, CGEIT)

Mr. Chris Friday is an Adjunct Professor of Management and Technology at Nichols College, Dudley, MA and a Facilitator at Boston University Metropolitan College.  He is also the Founder and Managing Principal of Dragnet Consulting.  Mr. Friday brings over twenty-five (25) years of experience in the business disciplines of project management, information management and marketing.  He has worked the gaming, hospitality, retail, professional services and consumer electronics industries. Mr. Friday has held positions of increasing responsibility to include; Director of Program Management, Vice President of Customer Relationship Management, Vice President of Resource Management and CIO. Mr. Friday holds a BA from Syracuse University and a MBA from the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College as well as PMP, PfMP and CGEIT professional certifications.  Mr. Friday is currently a doctoral student at the University of Florida, Gainesville. Johanna Rothman (CSM)

Johanna Rothman, known as the “Pragmatic Manager,” provides frank advice for your tough problems. She helps leaders and teams see and solve their problems, resolve risks, and manage their product development. Johanna was the Agile 2009 conference chair and was the co-chair of the first edition of the Agile Practice Guide. Johanna is the author of 17 books that range from hiring, to project management, program management, project portfolio management, and management. Her most recent books are From Chaos to Successful Distributed Agile Teams (with Mark Kilby), Create Your Successful Agile Project: Collaborate, Measure, Estimate, Deliver, and Manage Your Project Portfolio: Increase Your Capacity and Finish More Projects, 2nd edition. Te Wu (PfMP,PgMP, PMP, PMI-RMP)

Dr. Te Wu is the CEO of PMO Advisory, a PMI Global R.E.P. focusing on project, program, portfolio, agile, and risk management training and consulting. He is also a professor at China Europe International Business School and Montclair State University. Te is certified PMP, PgMP, PfMP, and PMI-RMP. He is an active volunteer including serving on PMI’s Portfolio Management and Risk Management Core Teams. He is also a United States delegate on the International Standard Organization Technical Committee 258 for Project, Program and Portfolio Management.
